Hell yes the St Patrick’s day Leprechaun drinking Guinness shirt benefits outweigh the risks, I have had chemotherapy and it did help me, in fact, it saved my life. When I was less than a month into first grade (six years old) I was diagnosed with high risk, acute lympoblastic leukemia (years later I heard someone say that there was less than a 10% chance I would survive). The week after the diagnosis I was inpatient in the hospital and began treatments. I had a port-a-cath placed inside a month and remained inpatient on isolation for almost three months (I got out just in time for Christmas). From there it was three years of clinic visits to get chemo or blood transfusion or spinal taps to make sure the cancer hadn’t spread, it was nightly pills at 2 AM, it was ER visits every time a ran a fever above 99 degrees, and it was isolation from my peers even when I got to go back to school because I wasn’t strong enough to go outside.

Best St Patrick’s day Leprechaun drinking Guinness shirt
It was a hard and St Patrick’s day Leprechaun drinking Guinness shirt painful journey but in the end it was well worth it, I got to live. After three years, the doctors couldn’t find any sign of the cancer and I was in remission, five years after that I was declared cancer free and by ten years the odds of relapse have dropped to less than 1%. Granted that while I did make it through the cancer and chemo, I do have lingering effects such as a weakened immune system and yearly cardiac monitoring (for potential heart problems) but those are worth the chance to live my life.
